Peace in the Bangsamoro

We support humane, non-violent and dignified ways to solve armed conflicts in the Philippines. GZO Peace Institute supports the Bangsamoro's aspiration for peace and justice. We have engagements with both the GPH-MNLF and the GPH-MILF peace tracks.

Peace with the Armed Left

Gaston Z. Ortigas Peace Institute supports non-violent solutions in ending armed conflicts. We engage both the Government of the Philippines and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (GPH-NDFP) in the peace negotiations.

Women in the Peace Process

We support women's participation in the peace process. GZO Peace Institute is one of the pioneering forces responsible for greater women participation in Philippine peace building. We are also part of the UN initiative on Women in Peacebuilding, the 1000 Peace Women for the Nobel Peace Prize, and the Beijing Conference on Women.

Work with Indigenous Peoples

Indigenous People are some of the most marginalized and underrepresented sectors in the Philippine society. Majority of the armed conflicts take place in the hinterlands considered as ancestral domains. Tribes people are caught in the crossfires and bear the brunt of the armed conflict. GZO works toward a humane world for indigenous persons and the meaningful participation of IP's in the peace processes.
